Weapons :
First, I would like to congratulate the site http://uoss.stomped.com for his combat section !
This small section is showing utilities of rapid weapons in UO.
Yes in fact, people underestimate the importance of weapon speed. Too many players use halberds, but its not the best weapon in the game. Cause they r too slow and even If you have 80 in Dext.
Halberds r the best weapons on an opponent with an extremely high AR. ( like magical plate with 40 or 45 AR )
But front monsters, or against Ring, chain armored opponents, even normal plate or bones. A Vicking sword, or a War mace, even executionner axe, Two handed axe, double axe r very good. And all of these weapons ll raise your combat skills and your stats faster than an halberd. War mace and Vicking sword r the best weapons that you can hold in one hand. ( If you have a high parrying skill, maybe the best choice with a good shield )
Rapid weapons can be quite impressive defensively too. Because if their bite r not very powerfull, successful hit had an excellent chance of interrupting an opponents swing. Fighters with these weapons have an impressive ability to defend themselves in a prolonged battle.
And against mage or Archer rapid weapons r the best way to deconcentrate them a lot !
